HARELA CELEBRATION

On the occasion of the local festival ‘Harela’ of Uttarakhand, a tree plantation drive was organized at our school on July 15, 2025. An informative assembly was conducted by the students of Class V.

Tree plantation in schools play a vital role in promoting environmental awareness among students and in creating a green and healthy learning environment. As environmental concerns continue to grow, our school is increasingly taking initiatives to instil the values of sustainability and ecological responsibility in young minds.

The primary objectives of the tree plantation programme were:

·      To increase green cover and combat environmental degradation
·      To educate students about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance
·      To encourage students to actively participate in environmental conservation
·      To improve the aesthetic appeal and air quality of the school premises

Various native and environment-friendly species such as Neem, Gulmohar, Mango, Ashoka, Banyan, Guava, Hibiscus, and many more were selected for plantation. These species were chosen for their adaptability, ecological value, and ease of maintenance.

Students actively participated by bringing saplings and planting them with great enthusiasm, making the event a meaningful step towards a greener future.
