Workshop : Understanding Good Touch and Bad Touch

Ms. Mrinalini, the school counsellor, conducted an interactive workshop spanning two days (on May 6,2024 and May 7, 2024) for students of Classes 3, 4 and 5. The session commenced with an introduction to the concepts of good touch and bad touch, emphasising the importance of recognizing and distinguishing between the two. Ms. Mrinalini utilised a video from YouTube to illustrate these concepts, making the session engaging and relatable for the students.

One of the highlights of the workshop was an activity where Ms. Mrinalini demonstrated various types of touches on a student and encouraged the participants to identify whether each touch was classified as good or bad. This hands-on approach allowed the students to grasp the nuances of the topic effectively.

In the session dedicated to girls, Ms. Mrinalini provided valuable information about menstrual hygiene, including the proper usage and disposal of sanitary napkins. She encouraged an open dialogue by inviting questions from the students, addressing any queries they had related to menstruation and hygiene practices.

The workshop concluded with a discussion on maintaining overall health and hygiene, underscoring the importance of personal care habits. The session was well-received by the students, who expressed enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunity to learn about topics that are often considered taboo.

Overall, the workshop proved to be fruitful, equipping the students with essential knowledge and empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their safety and well-being. By fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment, Ms. Mrinalini successfully addressed sensitive topics with sensitivity and clarity.

Special thanks to Ms. Mrinalini for conducting the workshop and providing invaluable guidance to the students.
