ANNUAL SPORTS MEET-2023

The Raja Rammohan Roy Academy community came together in a grand celebration of athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship as it successfully conducted its Annual Sports Meet on 04 November 2023. The day was graced by the presence of Shri Dilip Kumar Kotia, ex Principal Secretary of Uttarakhand and Chairman, Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana. The event was a resounding success, and it exceeded all expectations, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of the students.

This year's Sports Day Meet was a day of intense competition and joyful celebration. Students from all age groups displayed remarkable skills and enthusiasm across a range of sports and activities, including sprinting, relay races, aerobics, PT drill and Tug of War. Their remarkable performances wowed the audience, leaving no doubt about the incredible talent present within the school.

The day kicked off with a grand opening ceremony, complete with a vibrant March Past, with students marching in step to the rousing sounds of the band. It was followed by a Welcome Dance and Flower Drill by the tiny tots of pre-primary section. This paved way for various sporting events that saw the students sweat and toil as they battled for their houses. The energy was electric as parents, teachers, and friends cheered on the participants. The entire campus was alive with the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

In addition to the competitive events, there were various other fun-filled events that enthralled the guests. The beautifully choreographed Umbrella and Saree Drills left the audience speechless as the students danced and moved in unison like one body in complete harmony with each other. Aerobics, Yoga and Pyramid Drill took the tempo many notches up before the  Tug of War fest between the parents and the staff of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy.

The closing ceremony of the Sports Day was a jubilant affair as students who excelled in their respective events received medals, trophies, and certificates of achievement. The winners’ joy was infectious, and their hard work was acknowledged with cheers and applause. Prizes were also won by the houses for different categories and Vindhya House was triumphant in winning the Overall Sports Trophy for the academic session 2023-2024.

The true essence of the event was the spirit of competition mixed with respect and support for fellow competitors. The students exhibited exemplary sportsmanship, which exemplifies Raja Rammohan Roy Academy’s commitment to holistic development and character-building.

In the end, Shri kotia in his address to the students, commended them for their dedication and stupendous performances. He spoke about the extremely important role sports play in our lives in not only contributing to physical fitness but also teaching valuable life skills such as teamwork, determination, and discipline. Miss Aditi Chaudhary of XI standard gave a vote of thanks, thanking all the guests and students for making this event a memorable one.

The success of the Annual Sports Day Meet would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the school management, teachers and most importantly the hugely talented students of one of the best schools of the Doon Valley. Their performances were awe-inspiring, truly embodying the values held dear at Raja Rammohan Roy Academy. The event was a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education and belief in the power of sports to shape well-rounded individuals.
