Harela Festival Celebration
The Kindergarten, Primary, and Senior Wings of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy celebrated Harela, one of the most cherished festivals of Uttarakhand, with great enthusiasm on 15th and 16th July, 2026. Heralding the arrival of the monsoon, Harela symbolises the harmonious relationship between humankind and nature and serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to protect and preserve the environment.
The celebrations commenced on 15th July, 2026, with a special assembly presented by the students of the Primary and Senior Wings in the august presence of the respected Principal, Ms Bharti Vishnoi, and the Headmistress, Ms Tripti Chopra. Through informative presentations, the students highlighted the significance of Harela and conveyed the message of environmental conservation. Marking the occasion, the Principal planted a sapling and encouraged the school community to contribute towards making the Earth greener.
The Kindergarten Wing celebrated the festival with equal enthusiasm. Dressed in vibrant shades of green, the young learners participated in a nature walk, during which they learnt about the importance of trees and plants in maintaining ecological balance. This was followed by a ‘Creative Leaf Craft’ activity, which made the celebration both enjoyable and educational while fostering a love and appreciation for nature among the children.
On 16th July, 2026, teachers, students, and members of the support staff enthusiastically participated in a tree plantation drive on the school campus by planting saplings of ornamental, medicinal, and fruit-bearing plants. The initiative reinforced the importance of planting and protecting trees and inspired the entire school community to work collectively towards a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
