The members of Student Council of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy, for the session 2023-2024, were sworn in on August 7th, 2023 in an impressive ceremony in the school premises. The event marked the official induction of the newly elected School Council members, who will now shoulder the mantle of leadership and guide their peers through the academic year. With the passing of leadership, these meritorious students were bequeathed with the onerous responsibility of leading their fellow students through the myriad challenges of the schooling world.

The ceremony commenced with a sense of anticipation and enthusiasm, as the school community gathered to witness the investiture of these young leaders. It began with a solemn prayer followed by a harmonious rendition of the song ‘We Shall Overcome’ by the school choir, invoking the power of faith and trust in everyone present in the audience. This was followed by a crisp march by the office bearers from the primary and the senior section who carried the school and house flags in a visually appealing display, marching in step on the mighty drum beat of the school band.

The students were then conferred with titles and badges by Ms Vishnoi and house mistresses. From the primary section, Prakhar Gaur was elected the Head Boy and Ishi Rawat was elected the Head girl. Divyansh Singh and Shailja, from the senior section, were bestowed with the supreme responsibility of leading the school as the new Head boy and Head girl respectively for the session 2023-24.

As part of the ceremony, Divyansh Singh, the newly elected head boy, administered the oath of office, and all council members pledged their commitment to fulfill their duties with honesty, integrity, and diligence. The solemnity of the moment was palpable, as the entire school community witnessed the council members’ sincere promise to serve and lead. The school council swore to conduct themselves in a genteel manner and endorse the principles of the school through righteous behavior and hard work. Shailja, the newly elected Head girl, then addressed the audience and pledged to fulfill the aspirations of the school.

Moving forward, Ms Vishnoi extended her heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected council members and motivated them to uphold the school’s motto ‘Learn to Serve’ in the highest regard. She commended the newly inducted council members and reminded them that leadership comes with both challenges and rewards. She also emphasised upon ‘leading by example’ and encouraged the members of the council to be true to themselves and to their role as a leader.
