On 23rd September 2023, an educational trip was organized for the students of Class 11A and 11B to the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. The trip was a remarkable experience for both students and teachers alike, providing valuable insights into the world of military training and education.

The Indian Military Academy, situated amidst the picturesque landscapes of Dehradun, is a premier military training institution in India. The sprawling campus, rich history, and dedication to excellence make IMA an ideal destination for educational visits.

Upon our arrival at IMA, our students and teacher escorts  Mrs. Kawaljeet Kaur,Mr Yogesh Puri, Mr.Ranveer Singh Rawat and Ms.Priya Tyagi were warmly welcomed by the academy . A brief introduction to the history and significance of IMA was provided, setting the tone for an informative day.

The day started with the lines...'Dare to train, Train to dare'. A specially curated short film was screened, giving students an in-depth understanding of the rigorous training and life at IMA. It highlighted the dedication, discipline, and values instilled in the cadets. The moto of the institution is "Valour and Wisdom".

The students were taken to the various museums on the campus, including the War Memorial Museum and the IMA Museum. These museums house an extensive collection of artifacts, weapons, and historical documents, providing a glimpse into India's military history. The students were particularly fascinated by the displays and exhibits.

Later the Students had the opportunity to interact with the horses, learn about their role in military operations, and witness the care provided to these magnificent animals.

There were three chambers with 22 horses in each totalling to 132 horses. Some of them were named- Velocity,Aastha, Gunlight,Rocket etc.

A comprehensive tour of the IMA campus allowed students to appreciate its vastness and infrastructure. The lush green surroundings and well-maintained facilities left a lasting impression on everyone.

The children and teachers escort also visited the library having more than 1lakh books. We came across the books which were 250 years old and preserved by chemicals. The eye catching part of the library was the 1st edition of 'Mann Sarovar' by Munshi Premchand.

The children were thrilled to see 50 × 25 meter swimming pool named after General Manoj Pandey.

The last but not the least, and most awaited part of the trip was the visit to 'Chetwode Hall'.

This trip has not only expanded the horizons of our students but has also inspired many to consider a career in the armed forces.

The educational trip to IMA Dehradun was a tremendous success, leaving a profound impact on the students. It offered a unique insight into the world of military training and inculcated a sense of discipline, dedication, and patriotism. We are grateful to the academy for their warm hospitality and for facilitating this enriching experience.
